Just to explain his reasoning for the song…he is a plaintiff’s attorney and tort reform in Texas has limited the amount of damages a person can claim for wrongdoing. Insurance companies lobbied to put a cap on the damages and so Brian will get cases where a child is injured, parents will have to fork out over the course of a lifetime multi-millions of dollars in care, but the law can only allow them to collect around 200K. As a result, you don’t find many attorneys taking on these sad cases where many need an advocate.
