The City of Houston recently celebrated its 175th birthday and Leah White stepped up to the plate to write 15 original songs about the City’s Landmarks.

“Our Roots Are Strong” mantra is to “inspire and educate youth about Houston’s history and need for preservation.”

The album has been very popular with schools and preservationists with songs about “NASA”, the “Astrodome”, Buffalo Bayou” and even a book goes along with the album called “Goodnight Houston”. It’s a children’s book by Jennifer & Kyle Solak that reads along with the last song on the album.

Spring 2012 there will be a short film to go along with the album’s title track “Our Roots Are Strong” filmed with Houston families.   Stay tuned for the release!
